Red is the creator of the stunning illustrations in Matthew's latest book Totem. Within minutes into the first meeting between writer and artist, he started to draw the picture of the mother bear and her cub who appeared during Todd's vision quest in the first chapter of Totem - a symbol of the rebirth and hope at the heart of the story. Matthew felt that this spontaneous act of creation was almost supernatural. The orbs that often appear in Red's art represent the power of the animal's spirit.
